How To Lock Gallery On Your Android Phone For Free [2023]

Table of Contents

Overview

Let’s say you have an Android phone or tablet. Since several people have access to the device at once (for example, your household members), you would like to somehow protect some applications from unauthorized access. How to lock gallery? You can use the device lock with a password or, say, a fingerprint swipe. Or you can just block individual applications. How? The answer is next.

Process Description

First of all, you will need to install the third-party Smart AppLock app. To do this, open the Google Play Market and enter the specified phrase in the search. Next, install the application.

After the application is installed, you need to launch it. Please note that the first time you launch the application, you will need to enter the default password – 7777.

After entering the password, the “Applications” tab will open in front of you.

You will need to add the apps for which you want to set a password. To do this, click on the plus sign, which is located at the bottom of the window.

Next, we see a list of applications. Let’s say we want to set a password for the Gallery app. Accordingly, we click on it so that a checkmark appears next to its name. After the applications are selected (there may be several), click on the “Add” button.

We moved back to the Applications tab with the application already added. In our case, this is Gallery.

All? No, not all. the problem is that by default the same password 7777 is used. For example, when you open the gallery, you will see that in order to view photos you need to enter the password that is indicated in the hint.

We must change the password. To do this, open our Smart AppLock application and select the “Settings” tab. Here you will see the item “Security settings”, click on it.

On the protection settings page, you can change the lock method and the password itself. Let’s say that we leave the blocking method using numbers.

Click “Password” and enter a new password of numbers, for example, 123456, and save the settings.

We go to the gallery and try to enter the password 7777 – nothing works out for us, because we just changed it. The correct password is 123456.

I would like to pay special attention to the fact that you do not need to install root rights to use this application. But there is also a minus – when Smart AppLock is removed, previously blocked applications become unlocked. So if you want to get to your gallery will not be so difficult. Otherwise, the idea and implementation are just great, as you can see for yourself.
