How To Deactivate AVG On Android Overview
After using it for a few weeks, he decided that AVG is not the antivirus for you, but you can’t uninstall it. Have you tried to uninstall a program from the Windows Control Panel, as you do with all the programs you want to remove from your PC, but the procedure failed due to some errors displayed on the screen?
If you take a few minutes of your free time, I can explain how to uninstall AVG intelligently using the Windows Control Panel or, if necessary, the official uninstall utility that allows you to uninstall AVG from your PC if the standard uninstall procedure fails. I assure you that this is a much simpler procedure than you might imagine, and that it does not involve any risk in terms of system stability.
How to remove AVG from Windows
In the window that opens, if you are using Windows 10 Windows 8.x, go to System , select the Applications and Features article from the left sidebar, and look for AVG- related items in the list of programs installed on the PC.
If you can’t find a menu listing the applications installed on your PC, search for uninstall in the search bar in the Windows settings panel and select Install an application from the search results.
If you are still using a version of Windows equal to or earlier than 7, in order to access the list of programs installed on your computer, you need to open the Control Panel (as I explained earlier), after which you need to click on Uninstall a program and identify the articles associated with AVG from the list of programs installed on your PC.

Now the steps are the same in all versions of Windows. Then select the AVG protection icon from the list of programs that you have installed on your computer and click the uninstall button , which in Windows 10 and Windows 8.x is next to the program icon, while in Windows 7 and earlier it is at the top. On Windows 10 and Windows 8.x, the button must be pressed twice in a row.
In the window that opens, click on the yes button , select the uninstall icon and confirm that you are ready to remove AVG from your PC by clicking the Yes, uninstall button.
Now wait a few minutes for all AVG Protection-related files to be removed from your PC and click Restart Now to accept the restart of your PC (all changes need to take effect).
After rebooting the system, return to the list of applications installed on your PC, select AVG, and click on the uninstall button to start the antivirus removal procedure. If you’re using Windows 10 or Windows 8.x, you’ll need to double-click the Uninstall button instead of once.
In the window that opens, click on the yes button, confirm that you want to uninstall AVG by clicking on the Yes uninstall button and wait a few minutes until the AVG uninstall procedure is completed. Click on the final prompt window and complete the AVG removal procedure.

If you have already tried to uninstall AVG by following the procedure I just illustrated, but the software uninstallation process is not completed due to strange error messages, try to uninstall the antivirus from your PC using the official AVG uninstall utility.
To download the AVG Removal Tool, go to this webpage and click MEDIUM Uninstall. When the download is complete, open the AVG_Remover.exe file and in the window that opens, first click on the yes and continue button.
Now wait a few seconds until a list of AVG products installed on your computer is found, check the box next to their names (for example, AVG Zen ) and click on the uninstall button to follow.
Well, now you just have to have a good cup of tea and wait patiently for the AVG removal to complete. At the end of the operation, you will be prompted to restart your computer. So, hit the resume button and when you log back into Windows, AVG should be completely removed from your PC.
note: I made a tutorial using AVG Internet Security, but the steps are pretty much the same, even in the free version of AVG. Even the uninstaller is the same for all antivirus options.
Remove AVG from macOS
If you have installed AVG on your Mac but now you want to remove it, proceed as follows: open the application by clicking on its icon in the menu bar or launcher, go to the AVG AntiVirus menu located in the upper left corner and select the item Uninstall AVG AntiVirus.
In the window that opens, click the uninstall button, write the password of the macOS user account (the one you usually use to log in) in the appropriate text field and click accept and stop to finish the AVG for Mac uninstall process.
Instead of AVG, I recommend that you install the free Malwarebytes Anti- malware for Mac, which does not have a real-time protection module and therefore must be used “manually” when you want to scan the system. Note: For the tutorial, I used a Mac with macOS 10.12.4 (Sierra), but the steps to follow are the same as for other versions of the Apple operating system.
How To Deactivate AVG On Android
AVG is also available as an Android app. If it is installed on your mobile phone or tablet, and now you want to delete it, go to the screen with all applications installed on the device, make a long “tap” on the AVG icon, drag it to the trash that appears in the upper right corner and responds to How To Deactivate AVG On Android.
Alternatively, you can access the Android settings menu (settings icon), go to Application, and select the AVG-related item (which can be called simply AntiVirus ) from the screen that opens. At this point, click the uninstall button and confirm the operation by clicking accept.
If you are using a Samsung terminal , you can also uninstall AVG by opening a menu that has all the applications installed on the device, clicking the edit button located in the upper right corner, selecting the sign (-) that appears on the AVG icon (which may simply be called AntiVirus ) and answering the uninstallation warning that appears on the screen.
If it is not possible to uninstall AVG from Android by following one of the procedures just shown, launch your antivirus application, navigate to the anti-theft device and deselect Device Manager.
This way, AVG will no longer have permission to “manage” your device, and so you can easily uninstall the app by following the steps I’ve just illustrated.
After removing AVG from your mobile phone or tablet, you may want to consider alternative solutions that can protect your device from major Android malware.
Note: I used the free version of AVG for Android and an Android 6.0 mobile phone to complete the tutorial. In any case, the steps to follow are more or less the same in other versions of Android, and in other releases of AVG available for the green robot system.
