Internet Explorer 10 finally comes to Windows 7
Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7 allows Windows 7 users to check and Download IE10 For Windows XP, a version of the Microsoft browser.
Windows 8 launched with Internet Explorer 10 installed by default, but Windows 7 users still stuck with IE 9. With the preview of Internet Explorer 10, Windows 7 users can now Download IE10 For Windows XP and enjoy some of the new features that Windows 8 already has.
Interface
The interface of Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7 has changed a bit. The forward and backward buttons are built into the window, making browsing Internet Explorer 10 Preview smoother. Tabs and the address bar have the same space. If you have a lot of tabs open, the interface can look a bit cluttered.
The menus are simplified and the menu bar is still hidden. Users can get all options from the little gear icon in the top right corner. The options menu is still there for the more technically slanted, but it hasn’t received any update.
Performance
Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7 is the fastest version of the browser. Microsoft has included support for web standards such as CSS animation, HTML5 spell-checking, and improved JavaScript performance.
The browser definitely feels a lot better than previous versions and puts it on par with competitors like Firefox and Chrome. Microsoft even partnered with Atari and Contre Jour to showcase the power of Internet Explorer 10.
In our HTML5 tests, Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7 lagged behind both Chrome and Opera but beat Firefox. It’s slightly faster than IE 9 and much faster than IE 8. Download IE10 For Windows XP not to miss out. Microsoft has done a great job of making Internet Explorer 10 on Windows 7 a fast browser.
Safety
IE has been very weak in the security department and Microsoft hopes to change that with Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7. The main security addition to Internet Explorer 10 Preview is “Enhanced Protected Mode” which locks down parts of the Windows operating system preventing the browser from accessing the OS.
There will be special pop-ups that will ask permission to access a part of the OS that is not normally required by the browser. This will help prevent viruses or hackers from accessing your files, even if IE has been compromised.
Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7 pulls the page from the Google playbook and adds automatic refresh. This way, users won’t have to forget to update their browsers for the latest security and performance updates.
Do not track
Almost every browser these days seems to have a “do not track” feature. This feature allows users to opt out of targeted advertising. In Google Chrome, you will have to enable it yourself. Microsoft is doing “do not track” users without opting out of it.
This move by Microsoft has broken some companies, and its tracking is not tracked by default. Some companies have announced that they will ignore Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7 without tracking settings.
Built-in flash
Like the Windows 8 version of Internet Explorer 10, Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7 will include integrated support for Adobe Flash, but only for selected sites. The Flash plugin is not yet integrated into Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7, but will be added in a new browser update.
Wrap
Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7 offers a great look into the future of IE 10 but doesn’t have the full touch interface that IE 10 for Windows 8 redesigned. There are still interface elements in Internet Explorer 10 Preview that looks and feel dated. Unfortunately, its improvement is not enough to keep users away from competitors like Firefox or Chrome.
